Environment

A natural heritage to know and to protect

The waters of the Bouches de Bonifacio hold one of the most extraordinary marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean.

Réserve Naturelle des Bouches de Bonifacio

Between Cavallo and the Lavezzi, the Réserve Naturelle des Bouches de Bonifacio protects seabeds of rare richness: posidonia meadows, gorgonians, granite shaped by the sea, and abundant marine life.

The Club encourages a mindful presence in this environment, founded on knowledge and respect: to dive here is to enter, on the tips of one's fins, a place to be preserved.

Our principles

Respect for the Nature Reserve

We move according to the rules of the protected area.

Observe without altering

No collection: we look, we do not gather.

Trim and control

Careful buoyancy protects the most fragile seabeds.

Respect for marine life

The right distance, without disturbing or feeding.

No trace of our passage

Responsible waste management, on board and ashore.

Knowledge as responsibility

To know the sea is the first way to protect it.

Diving Club Cavallo operates in accordance with the applicable regulations and the rules of the Réserve Naturelle des Bouches de Bonifacio, fostering among its members a culture of environmental protection. The Club is neither the manager nor an institutional partner of the Reserve.
